One of the more than 1,100 agencies currently contained in Eden I&R's Services Database is Community Resources for Independent Living (CRIL), a peer-based disability resource organization that advocates and provides resources for people with disabilities to improve lives and make communities fully accessible. CRIL offers independent living services at no charge to persons with disabilities living in southern and eastern Alameda County. CRIL is also a resource for disability awareness, education and training, advocacy, and technical advice. Last fiscal year, 2-1-1 Alameda County phone line staff made 1,153 referrals to CRIL for its critical services and resources. Eden I&R/2-1-1 is proud of our long-time partnership with CRIL. This mutually beneficial relationship is illustrated by CRIL's Program Director, P. Michael Galavan, who recently stated, "We love 2-1-1. 2-1-1 refers more people to CRIL than any other referring agency."
