New VOAD chapter in Alameda County

Alameda County has a new VOAD chapter! National Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD) is a nonprofit organization that fosters cooperation, communication, coordination and collaboration, to facilitate an improved response to disasters.

Essential to disaster recovery and preparation, Alameda County has just started its own county VOAD. Under the jurisdiction of Northern CA VOAD, Alameda County VOAD intends to creatively get all voluntary agencies involved in disaster preparation for Alameda County.

In this new endeavor, Ollie Arnold, Housing Outreach Coordinator with Eden I&R, was voted VOAD Chapter President. Working collaboratively with other organizations has always been a passion for Ollie, and she will now use this opportunity to build on those relationships to make Alameda County a safer place through preparation and collaboration.
