Housing Referrals Available in an Online Format!
Eden I&R has revolutionized the way Alameda County service providers
can find affordable housing for their clients. If you are an Alameda County
service provider that needs regular access to information on available
affordable housing, the Online Housing Project may be your answer.
As the source for information and referral to affordable housing in the
County, Eden I&R Resource Specialists use our database to serve clients
through our roving programs and our many phone lines. This same information
has also been available to service providers via a paper subscription.
The Online Housing Information Project (OHIP) makes information from our
database of over 54,000 affordable housing units accessible over the Internet.
OHIP is a searchable database that allows users to search by city, building
type, number of bedrooms, and accessiblity. Searches can specify various
types of subsidized housing, shared housing, Section 8, or vouchers. For
each unit found pertinent information such as: monthly rent, term of tenancy,
move-in and deposit costs, minimum income requirements, and proximity
to public transportation is returned.

Access to OHIP is by subscription only.. Subscriptions are available to Alameda County service providers by contacting Eden I&R's
Housing Department. Before starting a subscription agencies must provide
a signed Memorandum
of Understanding (MOU). Subscription
prices vary depending on an agency's source of funding and budget
(for Community Based Organizations and other nonprofits).
Information in the OHIP database is updated biweekly on the same schedule
as our paper subscriptions. Subscribers may conduct as many searches of
the database as needed, but must login separately for each client. |
